It has been a while since I last wrote on this blog and a lot has happened since then. I moved back home to South Carolina and am happy and as in love with my home state as I was when we left South Carolina to go to Texas for my dad to go to seminary. We came back to Charleston, South Carolina to plant a church and we have witnessed and experienced Gods work constantly throughout doing this. We currently meet in our house, but I don't think it matters where we meet. God is God no matter where, and God can be God in the front room of our house.

Peace Under the Trees
Around my house are long, peaceful trails, ponds full of bass and 10 foot alligators, and trees, lots of trees. I often find peace outside my own front door, something I did not feel for a while when we lived in Texas. I can find God walking on the trails or reeling in that bass, or watching the eagles and hawks fly over the ponds, saying their hellos and their warnings to one another. Through all of this I have gained a respect for quietness. There is power in silence, especially when you use that silence to talk to God. Jesus often had quiet moments alone between him and his heavenly father, and we can do the same. We can find our greatest peace in God. Whether in the loudness of Dallas, Texas or under the trees or near the pond, God is always there and always listening. When you feel the world close in around you and peace start to drift away, talk to God.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
